I had a great experience purchasing my first home with Ivan’s help. He works with your best interest in mind, to find you the best option of your situation. For me, he went above and beyond to help me with getting documents straighten out that wasn’t really part of his job. Thanks Ivan! A trusted consultant for 10 years in the Mortgage business, I take pride in finding solutions to my clients needs. I love being the “go to” guy for my clients. There’s a good feeling when a past client sends a text message or email asking inquiring about a new mortgage. I know the hard work invested will pay off as time passes on. A little Bit More – let’s connect! lets-connect What People Say About Me – Testimonials Ivan is great at what he does. He helped me finance my first, and was extremely patient. Being that it was my first time, I had no idea what documents I needed, and I didn’t understand real estate lingo. However, Ivan was very patient and explained everything to me probably a couple of times. He also has great customer service. He responds extremely quickly and is on top of everything. He made my first transaction really smooth and easy. We got caught at some bumps in the road but he found a way to help us resolve it. He is a genuinely nice person. He occasionally shoots me an email to see how things are or whether I have any questions regarding anything. He is there to help and I can just tell that he loves his job. Credit Help: Where to Start?

If you find yourself stuck and don't know where to begin the path to building a better credit future, take a step back and consider these steps.

Understand Your Credit and Financial Position

Be a realist. What steps in your current financial position can you afford to take? Also consider, what sacrifices are you willing to make?

One thing that I learned later in life is that you have to invest in yourself. Take a moment to ask yourself: How many dollars are you investing in your future vs spending on items that aren't a necessity. I started this best practice six months ago and it's amazing how my thought process has changed. It has become a natural decision to avoid splurging on items that bring temporary happiness.

Imagine for a moment this comparison: The thought of a brand new car with all the bells and whistles vs the thought of having no credit problems but still driving your used car. This comparison may or may not resonate with you however keep in mind that "Father Time" will always diminish the honeymoon effect while the confidence of financial freedom is everlasting and priceless.

Take Control

Ignoring credit problems will not go away. It is true that that as time goes on, credit becomes "stale." This means that old derogatory items will affect you less and less. The two things to consider are: When will it stop reporting as a current derogatory AND will a new creditor take over and start reporting again? Difficult to tell.

If you choose to ignore your creditors, you will face so much uncertainty. If you can't afford to resolve the accounts, talk with me and I will guide you on which are currently affecting you the most. Settling them one by one for pennies on the dollar is a lot better than avoiding the reality that can haunt you for the next 5 yrs.

Once settled, the creditor may negotiate the option to delete the derogatory. If not, at the very least it will stop reporting as current and become a stale trade line. Do not expect immediate improvement in your credit score but the credit burden will go away.

The other option is to hire a credit repair agency like MSI Credit that will target the creditors to show due diligence.

Bad Credit vs Positive Tradelines

Another important note to remember is that your credit health is equally related to your credit card usage. Always consider your credit balances in relation to your credit limits. You should aim to keep your balances at 25% of the credit card limit.

This means that settling bad credit and paying down your credit cards go hand in hand. This also means that you DON'T NEED TO PAY OFF ALL CREDIT CARDS.

I can help you with this. If I pulled your credit report, I will send you a budget spreadsheet that gives you an overview of how to spread out your payments. You are also entitled to free credit analyzer from our credit reporting agency that estimates your credit score improvements based on "what if" scenarios.

Hopefully this sparks some motivation to control. As always, do not hesitate to reach out for more detail.
